As a Human Intelligence Collection Technician for the Army National Guard, you will utilize your strategic, cognitive, and language skills to obtain Intel from both friendly and hostile sources. Your duties may involve interrogating and debriefing as defined by regulation; conducting and supervising tactical and strategic interrogation-related duties; supervising subordinate personnel; developing and approving interrogation plans and missions; advising the support element; and coordinating with other agencies. In the Army National Guard, you will learn these valuable job skills while earning a regular paycheck and qualifying for tuition assistance. Job training for Human Intelligence Collection Technicians consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn basic Soldiering skills, and 20 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT). Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field. If accepted into the Warrant Officer program, you may qualify for the MI Critical Skill Accession Bonus (CSAB). Then you will hone your leadership and decision-making skills in Warrant Officer Candidate School (WOCS) where you'll train yourself to make quick, on-the-spot judgments. Following WOCS, you will have two years to complete the requirements of Warrant Officer Basic Course (WOBC) where you will become a certified Warrant Officer. The National Guard is a unique element of the U.S. military that serves both community and country. The Guard responds to domestic emergencies, overseas combat missions, counterdrug efforts, reconstruction missions and more. Any state governor or the President of the United States can call on the Guard in a moment's notice. Guard Soldiers hold civilian jobs or attend college while maintaining their military training part time. Guard Soldiers' primary area of operation is their home state.
