We are looking for a Structured Trader. The candidate will be part of a team with functional responsibilities for structured transactions and related trade analytics within the Commercial Division of the US Clean Energy Group. The team will manage illiquid trading, structured transactions, and market risks of the business not readily hedged in liquid and observable markets. Main Responsibilities --

• Work with the--Marketing &--Origination,--Term Trading, Structures & Pricing, Market Operations and other commercial--functions to--successfully--price,--close, hedge, and manage profitable clean energy deals with clients.--
• Work with the Manager, Senior Structured Trading and Senior Analyst, Structured Trading, to value, close, hedge, and manage the SBU's structured transactions.
• Collaborate with the Structures & Pricing desk as appropriate. With the Manager, Senior Structured Trading, manage and warehouse as mandated and appropriate the illiquid portions of certain transactions while laying off liquid and transactable portions through the--Term--Trading desk.--
• Identify and highlight to team commercial opportunities and optimization strategies.
• During the buildout phase of the business, in concert with the broader team, support the development of commercial systems--(particularly the CTRM), in partnership with mid-office, and back-office partners--and support the development of uniform and consistent valuation processes across--the business.--
• With team lead, support the recruitment, management, and development of analysts on the team to support existing and new deals, deal and portfolio hedging requirements, and business-wide strategies. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in--Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or the sciences, or equivalent.--Advanced degree in a related field preferred.
  • 6+ years of energy experience in a front or middle office/commercial capacity, managing a portfolio of merchant generation assets, trading and hedging positions, including load-following deals and related commodities.
  • Prior experience should include direct experience on trading desks, pricing or--modelling--desks for processes ranging from RFPs to bilaterally negotiated transactions.--
  • Strong familiarity with common energy transactions including physical electricity contracts, financial energy transactions, power and gas swaps, variable-volume offtake agreements (i.e. wind and solar), load agreements, capacity, transmission, losses, FTRs, and both exchange and bilateral trade types.
  • Understanding of renewable generation technology and valuation thereof, including wind, solar, and battery generation facilities, as well as effective hedging approaches.--
  • Working knowledge of RECS and environmental products preferable.
  • Expert familiarity with certain/intrinsic and uncertain/extrinsic valuation approaches.
  • Power markets experience should--include the majority of ISOs: PJM, ERCOT, ISONE, NYISO, MISO, and CAISO.--
  • Familiarity with the market structure and transactional framework of US energy commodities, including common exchange venues (e.g. ICE US, CME).--
  • Modelling--experience desirable in prevalent industry platforms, as well as familiarity with common ETRM systems such as Allegro, Endur, Triple Point, Right Angle, or similar systems.--
  • Strong communication and networking skills.
  • Innovative, flexible mindset, excellent commercial and negotiation skills.
  • Risk-aware and compliance-oriented approach, with corporate, SBU, and team goals prioritized without exception over individual preferences or single book focus.
  • Flexible and adaptable commercial agility; ability to reorder critical transaction efforts based on new commercial requirements, under tight deadlines and sometimes changing requirements.
  • Ability, seasoned experience, and judgement to handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest professional standards.
