You will own the commercial metrics for the SmartHome PLs, influence and work across all functions to identify and create future product and service offerings that lead the market, bring Happiness and Well-being to our owners and establish GE Appliances as the leading digital software appliance company. You will also work closely with the sales and marketing team to develop content and execution strategies that exceed customer and consumer expectations and win in the marketplace. Position Senior Commercial Director, Smart Home and Energy Solutions Location USA, Louisville, KY How You'll Create Possibilities Develop, Lead and Own Execution of the strategy to grow our product and SaaS portfolio:

  • Lead the commercial efforts with product management, sales and marketing to identify opportunities and create strategies that deliver revenue, cash and EBIT targets.
  • Develop new business models ecosystems across micro-enterprises and service offerings to create additional revenue generating products/vehicles for the business.
  • Develop and lead the Go to Market Strategy, Digital, Marketing, Content Development, and executions plans with Marketing, Merchandising channel partners and Sales to deliver market leading experiences and content to our customers and owners across all our channels. -
  • Influence the strategic approach of MGPPs, MGDPs, Long Term Planning and Product Plans to ensure GEA is positioned for success in the physical and digital worlds.
  • Develop and drive full marketing funnel strategies and tactics across physical and digital platforms that maximize customer engagement and demand generation for SmartHQ Pro SaaS product and service offerings.
  • Develop and lead executive leadership reviews including weekly QMI, commercial hoshin pulsing, weekly commercial council topics and other ad hoc requests. -
  • Utilize expertise and knowledge on competitive products and customer strategies to differentiate and position GEA to win.
  • Work closely with sales leadership to create growth plans for SmartHome and Energy Solutions, leading product line reviews with top customers partners and exceed customer expectations. -
  • Partner with the fulfillment and sales team to accurately forecast inventory needed to meet the demand during all new product launches, promotion timing and day to day sales plans. -
  • Develop pricing, promotion and training strategies that drive Energy and SmartHQ Pro SaaS customer acquisition and encourage retention while maximizing business revenue goals.
  • Develop and drive channel marketing strategies and tactics that broaden our reach beyond current channel partners
  • Work very closely with finance and pricing teams to evaluate impacts of pricing, promotion plans and inventory decisions.
  • Partner with consumer insights, brand, industrial design and product managers to develop/leverage consumer research studies. Ensure leading edge product marketing efforts, including digital, social, point of purchase material, feature & benefit copy and all other creative assets. -
  • Manage the day-to-day work associated with the commercial needs of the SmartHome and Energy Solutions team. -Provide outstanding team leadership:
    • Identify and Develop talent for the SmartHome and Energy Solutions Commercial team. Creating the vision and strategy to execute when launching new products and realizing the go to market strategy.
    • Ensure that the organization has the required skills and capabilities within the commercial and digital software operations.
    • Provide leadership, coaching, support and development opportunities to ensure a strong commercial and digital software team.
    • Develop and ensure employee capabilities through performance management processes, talent reviews, training and development and effective staffing decisions.
    • Owns Inclusion & Diversity (I&D) strategy to foster inclusion and contribute towards our organizational diversity goals.
    • Mentor and coach team members to perform at maximum levels by providing challenging assignments, timely feedback and clear direction.
    • Ensure clear goals & objectives for your team, as well as individual growth plans aligned to the SmartHome and Energy Solution's growth strategy.
    • Provide outstanding team leadership:

      • BA/BS degree from an accredited university or college, or uniquely relevant experience
      • Minimum of 12 years of Commercial experience in Marketing, Sales, and/or Product Management in a business to consumer model.
      • Demonstrated commercial experience in one or more industries involving IoT/connected products, Energy or Software as a Service
      • Proven track record as an effective change agent
      • Results oriented; ability to deliver on commitments
      • Effective communicator and negotiator
      • Team Player with demonstrated "outside in" focus who effectively leads/works across functions
      • Exceptional interpersonal/written communication skills; can effectively interact with all levels of the organization
      • Demonstrated ability to influence and guide executive-level managers and reconcile, integrate competing interests.
      • Ability to drive transformational changes that impact multiple functions while making the right business tradeoffs.
      • Understands and operates at an enterprise-wide level; aligns priorities with broader goals, measures outcomes, uses feedback to change as needed, evaluates alternatives, solutions oriented, seeks alternatives and broad input; can see connections within complex issues.
      • Demonstrates initiative and takes action proactively. Possess the self-discipline to take actions before they are necessary, optimism towards achieving positive outcome and the competitiveness to translate a plan into action.
      • Strong problem solving, analytic, and project management skills. Goal-oriented and proactive in problem solving, coupled with creativity and a high energy level.Preferred Qualifications:
        • MBA preferred
        • Energy and Software as a Service channel development experience
        • Demonstrated fluency in language of technology, and translation of same to functionality
        • Exposure to operations and project management
        • Strong facilitation/presentation skills

          • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
          • Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
