Description:Job Description:Job Title: Billing Representative- Billing Coordinator- Landis Lakes OfficeReports to: Financial Services ManagerWork Schedule: Full-Time office hours are generally M-F, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime as needed.Part-Time office hours are defined by positionEmployment Classification: Non-exempt, HourlyStatus: Full-Time Part-Time PRN TemporaryPosition SummaryThe Billing Representative- Billing Coordinator is responsible for demonstrating knowledge and application of job duties within scope of practice and functions under the direction of his/her manager(s) and/or Director(s); respectfully interacts with all levels of staff; provides assistance, as needed, during assigned duty hours; participates in department activities; promotes independence; adherence to the attendance policy; encourages socialization; advocates for the quality of life of our patients while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws, regulatory and organizational standards; supports the companys core values.Summary of Duties and ResponsibilitiesA/R follow upReview claims and identify why insurance has deniedAppeal denialsReview, understand and apply information from medical recordsRe-Submit claims paper and electronicallyReview payer rejections and make appropriate adjustmentsReview and correct level two claim submission rejectionsRequirements:Abilities, Knowledge and SkillsEffective communication skills to include:Ability to fluently speak and read EnglishAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, handbooks, policies and manualsAbility to communicate effectively, verbally and written, with all levels of staff and patientsEducation, Prior Work Experience, Special Skill And Knowledge RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED required1-year medical billing office experience preferredAvaility clearinghouse experience, preferredBasic computer skillsUnderstanding of deductibles, copays, coinsurance, etc.Excellent customer serviceExcellent verbal and written communicationWell organized with an ability to meet deadlinesAbility to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environmentStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsMedical Terminology ICD-10Self-driven with ability to work in a team environmentKnowledge of insurance carrier guidelinesAbility to read medical records, medical documentation and apply to claims being submitted to payersStrong verbal and written communication skillsAcceptable results on Office of Inspector General, State Medicaid Exclusions, Abuse Registry Checks, Background Screenings, Drug Screen, and Sanction Checks.Must be at least 18 years of agePhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described, here, are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
