Research and Innovation capabilities. Midea's Small Appliance
Division (SDA) has opened a new position for Senior Research
Engineer.The Senior Research Engineer will be responsible for
supporting one or more of the following products:
- Countertop motor driven Appliances
- Countertop Cooking Appliances
- Countertop Beverage Appliances
- Countertop Induction Cooktops
- Portable Heater and Fans
- Humidifiers
- Air PurifiersThe Senior Research Engineer is a key member of
the R&D Small Appliance Team in the US, participating in the
decision-making of major R&D programs and issues, fueling the
innovation pipelines, and systematically solving key marketplace
problems and difficulties encountered in the execution.Domestic and
International travel will be required.Essential Job
Responsibilities
- Responsible for platform redesign, design the next generation
of appliances to meet new user needs, and lead the team to complete
the verification and implementation.
- Responsible for new platform requirements, new features with
technical solution breakthroughs and guide the design, to ensure
the project's success.
- Understand existing platform pain points and lead the team on
problem solving one by one.
- Participate in the process review of platform projects, point
out process problems and guide engineers to improve and optimize.
--- Responsible for the professional knowledge training of
products, and growing the system knowledge information of a
platform.
- Responsible for participating in the co-creation of innovative
concepts and in-home research
- Responsible for the patent layout and submission of
deliverables for product projects. --- Responsible for the regular
collection and output of new cutting-edge technologies and new
technologies from competitive products. --- Co-develop the product
roadmaps for SDA in close communication PD and Business leadership
with an entrepreneurial and futurologist mindset towards the
business direction and success. Qualifications --- Bachelor's
degree Mechanical Engineering, Master's preferred.
- 5+ years' experience in consumer product development with 2+
years' experience in small appliance development.
- Proficient in the system architecture, standards, control
methods, and related core components. Experience in system design,
lead platform manager, technical person in charge. Strong
understanding of product reliability needs and assessments.
Knowledge of US agency and compliance standards. --- Proficient in
using one or more 3D design software such as Pro-E, Creo, etc. ---
Domestic and international experience and multi-cultural mindset is
preferred. Experience working with remote product development teams
is preferred. --- Experience of translating consumer insights into
product innovation. --- Experience resolving platform pain points
using in-depth research and improvement ideas.
- Experience working on the successful execution of complex
projects. Strong problem solving and risk management skills. ---
Experience working in teams. Leading and coaching skills preferred.
Possess excellent communication, motivation, coordination, and
training skills.
- Passion for cooking and using kitchen appliances.Midea is an
