Exciting opportunity to join our Catalyst operations team in Louisville, KY. As a contributing member of this team your overall responsibility will be to improve processes using advanced technology (e.g. DCS, Batch Recipes, Software's) aiming highest degrees of efficiency aligned to corporate/site objectives. Ensure operational availability of automation equipment in the plant (DCS, SIS, BAS, Servers)

Responsibilities

• Define new automated ways of executing tasks via technology (advanced manufacturing)
• Improve processes through DCS improvements (e.g. batch recipes) and new technologies
• Coordinate and execute trainings to plant people in his/her area of expertise
• Execute/monitor Continuous Improvement Programs in performance, costs, quality, safety
  • Ensure compliance with local legal regulations and local legal legislation (ensure that permits are obeyed)
  • Ensure compliance with Clariant policies regarding safety and environmental aspects
  • Participate in risk analysis; support and implement corresponding action items
  • Responsible for SIS (Safety Instrumented System), availability, tests, software, and equipment
    • Ensure high levels of availability for automation installations (DCS, SIS, BAS, Server, DCS network)
    • Responsible for DCS/SIS system integrity, modifications, software configuration
    • Create and maintain all automation documentation; ensure proper utilization of Management of Change
    • Develop and maintain functional description / control logic / Interlocks
    • Coordinate preventive maintenance and tests for automation systems
    • Develop processes and procedures to increase First Pass Quality (FPQ) of production
    • Participate in groups to follow up nonconformities from clients (QNS) Requirements
      • BS or MS in engineering or related discipline; especially Chemical or Electrical Engineering
      • 1-5 years' experience with design, networking, programming and configuration of automation systems such as Siemens, ABB, Emerson, Rockwell, etc.
      • Experience in a manufacturing environment trouble shooting equipment and automation issues.
      • Chemical manufacturing is preferred.
      • Experience in computer programming and networking.
