Products Team (MPT), Shipboard Effectors Department is seeking a
Mechanical Engineer II for development and production support
across multiple programs. This position is on-site and located in
Louisville, KY. This Mechanical Engineering position performs in
alignment to expectations in the design, development and production
support areas associated with mechanical designs, validation
principals, qualification processes, procurement, and production
processes across a design life cycle. Development work may include
requirements understanding, concept development, DFMAs, PFMAs,
margin analysis, technical data package (TDP) development,
application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principals,
engineering test principals, preparation of technical analysis
reports, and presenting in design reviews. What You Will Do: As a
Mechanical Engineer in an individual contributor role,
responsibilities will include technical execution of tasks,
recommending solutions to a wide range of complex technical
problems related to the design, manufacture, integration, and
production sustainment of various mechanical sub-systems both in
the engineering lab and the factory floor both at Raytheon
Technologies and at suppliers. Post critical design activities
include contributing to first article inspections, work instruction
reviews, material dispositions, and root cause investigations to
production issues. Decisions are data driven and require preparing
technical justification analysis reports and presenting to a
variety of Engineering Review Boards. Other responsibilities to
anticipate include a commitment to program schedule and budget, and
3D parametric modeling. Qualifications You Must Have: Typically
requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering,
and Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant
experience. An advanced degree in a related field may be
substituted for additional years of experience. Two years’
experience in mechanical design and/or design documentation The
ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security
clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S.
citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Qualifications We
Prefer: Proficient in 3D CAD tools (modeling and drawing) Geometric
Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ANSI Y14.5 Experience in
mechanical sub-systems packaging, materials, thermal, structural
analysis, energetics, principals, control systems, interconnect,
airframe, or large assembly development. Proficient in CREO
(modeling and drawing) and Windchill (PDM) Active DoD issued

roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and
maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of
our products. As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure

remote. The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD.
The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative
of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when
