Job Description:

General Stores Supervisor Duties & Responsibilities
Daily
1. Workchain Ordering
A. Analyze all parts below safety stock levels for re-ordering.
a. Review Safety Stocks. Adjust based on usage and lead times
b. Review Lead Times
B. Add backorders and order on demand parts to Workchain.
C. Review all parts on Workchain for possible transfer from other plants
D. Coordinate transfers if applicable.
E. Requisition parts that cannot be transferred.
2. Part Spec Approval
A. Review new part specs for the following criteria:
a. Estimated lead time.
b. Safety stock quantity.
B. Assign new General Stores part number
C. Assign buyer code if known.
D. Approve Part Spec.
3. Workchain for rejected order requisitions and part quotes.
A. Review notes from buyers on rejected regs and provide required information or perform
required actions as requested by buyer.
B. Review notes from buyers on rejected quotes and provide required information or perform
required actions as requested by buyer.
4. Inventory control.
A. Audit daily CPARS transactions for completion and accuracy.
a. Receipts.
b. Window requisitions.
c. Window credits.
B. Cycle Counts
a. Insure cycle counts are being performed daily.
b. Review cycle counts for accuracy and investigate and resolve out of tolerance counts
that occur.
5. Supervise Ford hourly employees.
A. Insure employees observe and practice safe work procedures. Perform daily safety walk in
General Stores area.
B. Schedule required training and vacation time while insuring manning is available to
support maintenance and production.
C. Enter \\"TWOS\\" information in daily DROTS.
D. Define and direct employees daily work activities to support maintenance and production.
6. Expedite critical parts deliveries.
A. Push critical orders through the purchasing process.
B. Coordinate delivery of critical parts with suppliers.
C. Coordinate incoming and outgoing plant to plant transfers. Generate shippers and shipping
labels.
7. Pack and ship parts for the departments. Generate shippers and shipping labels.
6. Resolve supplier problems.
A. Adjust order quantities based on minimum order requirements.
B. Fix part description/part number discrepancies, cancel, delete, resource obsolete parts.
C. Return parts that were shipped in error. (wrong part, over shipment, shipped to the wrong
plant. )
D. Update open order due dates provided by suppliers.
Weekly
1. Attend weekly ME meeting.
A. Review and update ME with maintenance requirements in General Stores.
B. Review parts requirements and stock outs with MEs.
C. Review inventory reduction actions with MEs.
2. Indirect Materials meeting with the Controller's group and MP&L Managers.
A. Review current inventory reduction efforts in process.
B. Develop new inventory reduction strategies.
C. Review actual inventory dollar reduction to weekly plan.
D. Review General Stores manning requirements.
F. Review Cycle Count program.
Monthly
1. Attend Plant Managers IM Review meeting.
a. Review monthly MP&L performance metrics.
2. At the first of eaGh month print Inactive Reports (GRAP321B) and separate into packages for
each of the major departments and distribute.
3. At the end of each month enter all Inactive Reports into CP ARS and make necessary
adjustments based on info provided by departments. (Scrap, adjust safety stock, change
inventory status)
4. Print cycle count sheets for the month.
Yearly
1. Attend Year in Review meetings.
A. Evaluate actual performance to goals for the past year.
B. Develop performance goals for upcoming new year.
