The Sr Director of Programs reports to the VP of Programs and is responsible for cost and schedule management, technical leadership, guidance and oversight in all phases of the integrated product development process from the early phases of business development through design and implementation to sell-off, deployment & support in accordance with SNC's Technical Management and Planning/Tracking (TMAP/T). Directors of Programs in Spacecraft, Flight Software and ASC+, and Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) support the Senior Director of Programs and provide a unified cost/schedule management and technical leadership for those aspects of the CRS2 program. • Requires a BA/BS in a related field. Relevant work experience may substitute for required education
• 10+ years of experience
• Experience in program management, development engineering and/or operational experience in a branch of the military relevant to the product line/business area
• Business management and leadership skills usually acquired primarily through experience. Short courses, seminars, and post graduate study all contribute to the skills required for this positionPreferred:
  • Masters degree in Engineering, Science, or Business AdministrationPrimary Responsibilities:
    • The Senior Director, Programs is wholly responsible for Technical baseline for the Dream Chaser CRS2 program. This includes management and oversight responsibility for three Dream Chaser CRS2 Program Directorates including Technical Performance, Cost, Schedule, and Risk (TCSR) management as delegated by the Dream Chaser Program Director. The Senior Director is also responsible for establishing group direction, internal organizational structure of these three directorates, and supervision of leads & staff within the directorates. The Senior Director will maintain technical performance metrics as well as cost/schedule metrics in support of continuous monitoring of the DCCS technical performance and any issues that might impact CRS2 product deliveries
      • Management of the three Dream Chaser CRS2 Program Directorates includes:
        • Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) Directorate within the Dream Chaser program. This position works in concert with all other elements/functional areas within the program to ensure delivery of an integrated, fully tested, and verified system to Dream Chaser program approved levels.
        • Dream Chaser Spacecraft Directorate within the Dream Chaser CRS2 Program. The Spacecraft Directorate ensures Uncrewed Dream Chaser and Cargo Module spacecraft element architectural design is in proper configuration to support all major integrated tests (e.g. Induced Environments Tests, UDC/CM mate/demate tests) and all integrated milestones which must occur successfully prior to first DCCS launch into Low Earth Orbit.
        • Chief Engineer Office responsible for leading the Dream Chaser Architectural technical evaluations in support of the Dream Chaser program. This includes all elements of the Dream Chaser Cargo System (Spacecraft, Ground, Mission, and Launch Vehicle elements).
