Location: For this role, we are open to remote work and can hire anywhere in the United States or Canada. About the opportunity The Manager Data Governance role is an exciting opportunity where you will be responsible for building and leading a team to enhance and execute our analytics data governance strategy. In this role, you will define, drive, incorporate, and monitor processes and policies for how consumer data is managed and accessed in our analytical environments, both internally and externally facing. The role will work closely with our Security, Privacy, and Data Management departments and includes providing input and guidance to advance access to consumer data for analytics while applying privacy-by-design principles. This position will work closely with our data science, product, engineering, cloud, operations, and executive management teams, so strong written and verbal communication skills are required. This role will also participate with the acquisition, ingestion, integration, and transformation of data so that data lineage can be firmly established for different use cases, including AI and Machine Learning. What you'll get to do * Establish and enhance our Data Governance program through the design, build, and communication of analytics data management, including documentation of ingestion points, process flows, storage, retention, and deletion. * Build and manage a team of data governance subject matter experts * Oversee, implement, and enforce a Data Governance framework, including design and execution of processes and policies. * Provide expertise by developing and managing high profile and complex projects with realistic and achievable expectations * Analyze complex data governance issues and generate new solutions to advance our analytics data capabilities * Manage development and maintenance of data management standards and provide oversight of data activities across lines of business * Communicate project progress through well-defined metrics and continuous interaction with leadership * Lead efforts to document and visualize the lineage of customer data, highlighting transformations and aggregations from origin to consumption * Lead and manage deidentification and anonymization strategies to reduce consumer and business risk * Promote a Data Governance culture throughout the organization and help manage analytic data as an asset while minimizing risk * Build a roadmap and provide regular reporting on Data Governance metrics and activities * Integrate data governance into Ceridian's Dayforce product roadmap which will make data discovery, data access, and analytics available and trustworthy * Monitor ongoing compliance with the Data Governance program * Enforce compliance to meet international data standards What's in it for you * Encouragement to be the best version of yourself at and away from work: * YOUnity diversity and inclusion programs * Amazing time away from work programs * Support for your total well-being through our Live Well, Work Well programs targeting all aspects of your life * Recognition for your contributions through excellent pay, perks, and rewards * Giving where you're living: volunteer days, Ceridian sponsored events, and our very own charity, Ceridian Cares * Opportunities to fuel your career growth through numerous internal and external programs and events Skills and experience we value * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Management, or related experience. * Minimum of five (5) years hands-on experience leading or participating in Data Governance programs * Minimum of one (1) year of managing people in a data or analytical role * Experience and familiarity with data management tools that accomplish Master Data Management (MDM), metadata management, and data quality * Experience managing many projects at once, including setting and managing priorities effectively * Knowledge and understanding of existing and upcoming international data standards * Deep understanding of agile development methodologies and ability to tailor them to a specific situation * Demonstrated ability to apply technology in solving business problems * Strong verbal and written communication skills to both technical and non-technical audiences #LI-REMOTE Ceridian is fueled by the diversity of our talented employees.
