With each of its limited production offerings aged to its peak maturity, Michter's highly acclaimed portfolio includes bourbon, rye, and American whiskey.--Summary/ ObjectiveMichter's is seeking a Human Resources Manager at our distillery located at 2351 New Millennium Drive, Louisville, KY 40216. This will be an opportunity to become involved in the bourbon industry, one of Kentucky's finest traditions. This position will support all Michter's locations and report to Michter's Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer.--This position will also provide support to Michter's parent company, Chatham Imports, Inc. (Chatham) located in New York, NY (collectively, the Company), and will also report to Chatham's Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel.--The Human Resources Manager is responsible for providing guidance and direction to Company Leadership in all areas including, but not limited to, the development and implementation of competitive and market-driven human resources best practices. The HR Manager will focus on--creating an HR Policies and Procedures handbook, recruiting, onboarding and offboarding, performance management, benefits and payroll support, data tracking, training support, fostering a culture of excellence for all employees, and other duties as assigned.--A critical aspect to the role of the HR Manager is to compare HR laws to current policies and procedures, draft templates for HR documents and work with other members of Company Leadership to oversee the hiring and onboarding process for Company employees. The HR Manager will oversee preparing compensation and benefits packages, recommending policies, and maintaining updated employee records.--The HR Manager will also play an important role in developing and implementing the Company's ongoing response to the Covid-19 pandemic.--KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Successful candidates will possess a degree in an HR related field, experience with labor laws set by governing authorities and organizations (including, but not limited to, federal, state, and local labor laws, unemployment, worker's compensation, EEOC, FMLA, and ADA), experience working in a busy and successful HR department, and excellent computer skills including working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Hands-on experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), like ADP.
  • A willingness to strive for the highest-level quality service.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment and be a self-starter who works with integrity while also being a dedicated team player.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations and maintain high degree of confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to establish credibility and trust with a diverse group
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, judgment, negotiating and decision-making skills

    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or relevant field
    • Coursework should include personnel administration, human resources and labor relations, social sciences, business administration, and behavioral sciences.
    • SHRM-CP/SCP or HRCI certifications highly desired
    • Minimum 4-5 years' experience in the Human Resources field with experience at the manager level
    • To be eligible for this position, any offer of employment is contingent upon full vaccination against COVID-19 before the candidate's assigned start date.
