What You'll Be Doing:
Ensure Aerospace Division planning and supply chain operations
function properly. Responsible for production planning and
scheduling, customer service accounts, purchasing raw material and
managing outside services, inventory, and warehouse department.
Develop and monitor supply chain strategy and manage goals to
improve productivity, efficiency and accuracy of customer demand,
inventory, and on time delivery. Manage costs while securing high
quality material. Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and internal
resources to ensure all operations meet safety, quality, and
efficiency standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.Others
as assigned.
- Manages, motivates and coaches others to deliver consistently
high performance, achieve KPIs and meet training and development
needs. Builds trust, rewards, recognizes positive behavior, makes
decisions, and solves conflicts quickly.
- Sets and maintains departmental budget.
- Manages to ensure safety, efficiency, and on-time
delivery.
- Strategically determines best methods to resolve complex
problems to ensure customer satisfaction and adherence to
organizational policies.
- Supports management with reports, schedules, risk assessments,
alternative plans and mitigation activities. Planning & Scheduling
- Leads production and inventory planning to translate the demand
signals into feasible, optimized, and reliable short and long-term
supply plans that meet customer needs and inventory targets while
always ensuring inventory and customer health.
- Responsible for customer service activities, ERP/MRP system
(forecasting, order processing, work order entry, production
planning, scheduling equipment and manpower, material purchases,
schedule adherence, and continuity of supply and finished
goods.
- Provides customer analysis and resource/capacity planning to
maximize capacity and ensure production efficiency related to run
standards. Reviews and manages demand vs. capacity, delivering
solutions to mitigate bottlenecks; develops capacity and scheduling
models. Supply Chain
- Manages (directly or indirectly) buyer for Aerospace.
Responsible for sourcing material and working with Corp Purchasing
for compliance, vendor contract approval and pricing
negotiations.
- Finds cost-effective solutions for supply chain processes to
include outside service vendors.
- Develops and implements safety guidelines in all aspects of the
supply chain (e.g., use of trucks, forklifts)
- Ensures logistic systems in place are effective, maintained,
and review opportunities to standardize and streamline.
- Manages daily work order input to include inventory
verification through cycle counts, work order audits, and material
usage. Organize and facilitate plant-wide physical inventories, as
needed while maximizing storage space. Maintain outside
warehouses.
- Orders and manages inventory levels of raw material, finished
goods, and all purchased components using FIFO procedures within
RFC acceptable inventory turn levels while at the same time insure
product availability to our customers. Supervises inventory
analysis to maintain minimal levels and safe and proper storage of
raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventories while providing
prompt customer deliveries. Schedule: This exempt-level manager
role will primarily workeight or more hours per day, five days per
week based on business needs and will primarily be day-time hours
but may occasionally work or travel nights or weekends as
needed.
This is an onsite, remote-flexible position.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years related experience OR 5 or more
years of related experience including:
- Five or more years' experience in manufacturing or distribution
industry. Ideally in Aerospace and/or prior supply chain/outside
services.
- Experience scheduling manufacturing resources in a JIT or lean
environment. Should include hands-on experience with implementing
and using MRP such as SAP, Global Shop Solutions or similar and
ability to develop useful tools and reports to support operations
and planning efforts.
- Supply chain, logistics experience including knowledge of DOT,
export control and trucking/forklift.
- Experience with EDI (830 forecasts, 862s)
- Experience in successfully managing others including production
planning, supply chain, warehouse/logistics or related teams. At
least 2 years' supervisory experience.
- Communication skills that include ability to effectively: train
others, present or correspond highly detailed or technical
information internally or externally.
- Excellent computer software skills with ability to learn new
software as needed. Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office and MRP
software.
- Strong basic math, clerical, data entry skills
- Ability to travel as needed domestically and
internationally.
- US Person as defined by ITAR & EAR
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Lives or relocating local to Shelbyville, KY area or a
commutable distance - this is an onsite position
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or
Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
- Five or more years' experience with combined supply
chain/purchasing, technical and/or commercial
planning/scheduling.
- Five or more years in a manufacturing environment, including
Lean manufacturing concepts.
- Experience with metals preferred. Who We Are
