Oakwood New Vista is a residential facility for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities with many of the individuals suffering with co-occurring psychiatric disorders. The Psychologist models and trains staff in the principles and practice of Positive Behavior Support methodology. They serve as a member of Interdisciplinary Teams providing expertise regarding behavioral and mental health issues. They are responsible for Behavior Plan assessment, design, training, monitoring, and reporting; and will conduct behavioral assessments including functional analyses, and provide behavior analytic interpretations of the results. Also provides direct cognitive/behavioral treatment to clients via replacement skills training, social skills training, crisis de-escalation, group therapy, individual therapy, and/or skills coaching. The Psychologist provides counseling, mental health screenings, risk assessments, Mental Status Exams, and trauma assessments. They also provide dementia, psychological, and cognitive assessments. They will provide 202B.040 (involuntary admission to an ICF/IID) and/or 202A (involuntary admission to a psychiatric hospital) evaluation and court testimony. There are opportunities to work in our Autism Outpatient Clinic, providing Autism assessment to children and adults. Oakwood New Vista provides Psychology Board approved supervision and support for CEUs.

Required Qualifications:

Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology
Licensed/certified to practice in Kentucky as required by the State Board of Psychology
Behavioral expertise and IDD experience strongly preferred
Must possess a valid driver's licenses, reliable operating transportation and proof of current auto insurance
Must be able to meet criminal background and drug screening standards
