Job Description:
Responsibilities The Medical Records Technician is a key member
of the Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System medical records team.
The Medical Records Technician is responsible for all
statistical/abstracted data facility wide and coding of
admitting/final diagnosis in a timely, accurate manner. Lincoln
Trail Behavioral Health System is a 140-bed hospital offering
inpatient services for female adolescents, adults, older adults,
military/veterans and their families. Lincoln Trail Behavioral
Health System has a spacious cafeteria, gymnasium, art/activity
room, group rooms, classrooms and other areas to create a pleasant
atmosphere for patients and their families. Lincoln Trail
Behavioral Health System's quality services are provided by
psychiatrists, addictionologists, licensed therapists, certified
alcohol and drug counselors, activity therapists and teachers.
Also, care is given by registered nurses 24 hours a day. Since

Duties/Responsibilities: Answers questions related to medical
record completion by medical/clinical staff Follows established
procedures and guidelines for Release of Information. Performs ROI
function Codes final diagnoses and procedures using DSM-V and
ICD-10-CM classification system Follows established procedures for
retrieving and delivery of patient records to proper areas of the
hospital and returns these charts to the proper filing area.
Requirements: Education and/or Experience: Minimum is a high school
graduate with previous experience in coding and various medical
processing functions College certificate, diploma, or associate's
degree in coding and/or coding credential preferred Excellent
communication skills required
