Job Description:
The Medical Assistant works closely with the physician in the
practice/center clinical setting, assists with direct patient care,
and serves as the clinical liaison between physician and patient
and between physician and the office staff. The incumbent is
responsible for promoting communication among all care providers,
patients, and office staff regarding the care plan for the patient
as defined by the attending physician. This individual attends to
patients utilizing the age appropriate principles of growth and
development for patients of all ages according to the practice
specialty. The Medical Assistant, for the, Institute for Health
Equity will serve underrepresented community members living in the
city's most vulnerable zip codes, which the Institute for Health
Equity was designed to serve. In the community, the Institute for
Health Equity formalizes Norton Healthcare's system-wide effort to
address health inequities by acting as a central hub to connect
West Louisville residents to resources, facilitating Norton
Healthcare collaboration with community partners, and identifying
and developing needed services (e.g., accessible women's health
services). Institute for Health Equity's deployment of the
Community Health Worker will improve confidence through community
engagement and dissemination of factual information, while
addressing social determinants of health (SDOH) and improving
Norton Healthcare's impact on health and health outcomes within
these focus communities. Required:
