Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PACU - Post Anesthesia Care - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/10/2026 - Duration: 14 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position specializing in IR recovery with pediatric and ICU experience required. Responsibilities - Position is in the IR PACU unit of a hospital setting - Care for post-anesthesia patients, including pediatric cases, with phase 1 recovery responsibilities - Rotating day shifts with 12-hour shifts, start times vary between 6:00 AM, 7:00 AM, and 8:00 AM - Expected to work 3 shifts per week with variable start times - Frequent late stays are required, approximately 3-4 per 6 weeks - On-call required, with weekday hours from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM and weekend shifts divided between 6:00 AM–6:00 PM and 6:00 PM–6:00 AM - Floating required within the main hospital and to affiliated hospitals as needed - Recover only IR PACU patients when floating to the main PACU - Modules completed during orientation and annually - Must be able to respond to call within 1 hour - Return staff must wait 6 months before reapplying as a traveler - Local candidates with a permanent address within 100 miles are not eligible - All time off must be disclosed at the time of consideration; any time off requested after will not be approved - Team members collaborate to provide post-anesthesia care for a diverse patient population Requirements - Active KY or compact RN license required at time of consideration - Minimum 2 years of PACU experience with at least 1 year in ICU - Previous IR PACU experience with phase 1 recovery required - Experience caring for pediatric patients required - Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS; PALS required prior to start but not at time of consideration - No licensure hits accepted - References from two supervisors within the last three years required - Level 1 trauma experience required Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-666844.
