Job Description Job Description Bluegrass Specialty Surgery Center is hiring a Radiology Technologist for our Surgical Services Department in Lexington, KY. The Radiology Technologist will operate X-ray equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images during surgery. As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible following established radiological requirements and regulations ensure the safety of our patients and team members. This Radiology Technologist opportunity is a full-time position located on-site at our surgery center in Lexington, KY. The Radiology Technologist reports to the OR Manager. Radiology Technologist Roles and Responsibilities: Philosophy a) Supports the facility's ideology, mission, goals, and objectives b) Performs in accordance with the facility's policies and procedures c) Follows the facility's standards for ethical business conduct d) Conducts self as a positive role model and team member e) Recognizes patients' rights and responsibilities and supports them in performance of job duties f) Participates in facility committees, meetings, inservices, and activities Communication a) Communicates effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers b) Interacts with others in a positive, respectful, and considerate manner Financial practices a) Uses facility resources appropriately and avoids wasteful practices b) Reports wasteful practices c) Analyzes work area and makes recommendations for potential cost-effective improvements Compliance program a) Contributes to the progress and development of the organization's adopted compliance program b) Performs according to established compliance policies and procedures Performance-improvement program a) Contributes to the progress and development of the organization's adopted performanceimprovement program b) Performs according to established performance-improvement policies and procedures Safety/risk-management program a) Adheres to safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities b) Reports observed or suspected safety violations, hazards, and policy/procedure noncompliance to the safety officer or other designated person Professional competence a) Participates in continuing education and other learning experiences b) Shares knowledge gained in continuing education with staff c) Maintains membership in relevant professional organizations d) Seeks new learning experiences by accepting challenging opportunities and responsibilities e) Welcomes suggestions and recommendations Duties a) Operate radiologic equipment to produce images for diagnostic purposes. b) Position radiologic equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance according to specification of examination. Take x-rays following established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety c) Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure safety of patients and team members d) Ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order. Report equipment malfunctions to supervisor e) Maintain sterile field f) Serve as back-up for team members as needed g) help turn over between cases Required Skills & Qualifications: Associate of Applied Science Degree for Radiology Technology Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification State of Kentucky Radiation License Positive attitude, desire to efficiently support the care of patients, work in a team relationship with other health care workers to produce positive outcomes Ability to promote favorable facility image with physicians, patients, insurance companies and the public Knowledge of radiologic standards, requirements, and regulations Knowledge of radiologic safety, cleanliness, and infection control policies Knowledge of radiologic equipment uses and maintenance Bluegrass Specialty Surgery Center At Bluegrass Specialty Surgery Center, we go the extra mile to provide a great place to work that supports the overall wellbeing of our employees.
