What You’ll Do: The primary responsibility of a Kentucky Early
Intervention System (KEIS; formerly “First Steps”) provider is to
evaluate and provide treatment for pediatric patients between the
ages of birth and three years with needs in the areas of physical,
social-emotional, self-help, communication, and cognitive
development. KEIS Providers at APT, while working primarily in
children’s natural environments (homes, daycares, community
centers, etc.) also have the opportunity to work in other APT
offices and contract locations, depending on the counties/areas
served. PTs, OTs, SLPs, and Developmental Interventionists
interested in any of these settings can apply for this position.
KEIS Provider Essential Duties and Responsibilities (all
disciplines): Work closely with patients’ caregivers and the
interdisciplinary team to develop and implement Individualized
Family Service Plans (IFSPs) through a Coaching Model. Accurately
document treatment sessions as well as progress or evaluation
reports in detail. Accurately document treatment sessions as well

professional/technical competencies and proficiencies for job
responsibilities and upholds federal/state licensure and ethical
expectations. KEIS Physical Therapist Essential Duties,
Responsibilities, and Requirements: Examines and evaluates children
from birth to age 3 with a variety of congenital and orthopedic
conditions to improve mobility through skilled gross motor
interventions including but not limited to gait training, equipment
and orthotic management, neuromuscular re-education, and
therapeutic exercises. Our ideal candidate holds a doctoral degree
in Physical Therapy and an applicable and current, unrestricted
license to practice (or in the process of obtaining license). KEIS
Occupational Therapist Essential Duties, Responsibilities and
Requirements: Evaluate children from birth to age 3 for fine motor
development, visual motor development, sensory processing and
modulation differences, executive functioning skills, and more in
order to determine impact on activities of daily living (ADLs),
rest and sleep, education, play, leisure, and social participation.
Our ideal candidate holds a masters degree in Occupational Therapy
and an applicable and current, unrestricted license to practice (or
in the process of obtaining license). KEIS Speech-Language
Pathologist Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Requirements:
Evaluate and treat children from birth to age 3 for speech,
language, oral motor, voice, fluency, articulation, or social
communication disorders to achieve highest level of functioning and
prevent regression. Our ideal candidate holds a masters degree in
Speech-Language Pathology and an applicable and current,
