Job Description:
This role is a 100%% in-office position in Louisville,
Kentucky.
SUMMARY: Reporting to the Sr. Director of System Services, the
Database Administrator Team Lead will manage processes, technology,
and staff assigned to their functional area: casinos and business
development. The Database Administrator Team Lead will also be
responsible for evaluating and maintaining the security, integrity,
and operation of the corporation's data and information
systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day activities of the Database Administrators
assigned to their functional area: casinos and business
development.
- Conduct stand up meetings and manage workloads of the
team.
- Mentor team members as needed.
- Research, implement, and operate all software and systems
aligned with their functional area.
- Develop, implement, and maintain all process and policies for
the functional area.
- Ensure the successful and continued operation of the company's
enterprise systems and services.
- Participate in the configuration, deployment, and maintenance
of databases across all properties.
- Ensure that databases are being backed up and adhering to data
retention policies with respect to regulatory guidelines and best
practices.
- Review and patch database systems as required by security
policies and initiatives.
- Monitor and respond to systems outages as required.
- Respond to support calls in an on-call rotation.
- Work as a member of a project team to deliver new business
systems.
- Demonstrate strong project management skills, and the ability
to serve in a technical advisory capacity to executives and project
managers with respect to design and architecture of systems and
applications.
- Work with peers to maintain standardized methods and processes
across all properties.
- Create, provide, and articulate required reports for
management.
- Work to towards standardizing methods and processes, while
achieving a strong security posture across all properties.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have 5 years supporting the following:
- Provide database administration and support for SQL Servers
(SQL 2008 thru 2019).
- Build and monitor database backup schedules and retention
policies.
- Configure and support SQL Server replication between
properties.
- Monitor SQL Server counters and troubleshoot performance issues
related to the following: (low memory, high CPU utilization, index
fragmentation, missing indexes, disk contention, blocking sessions,
and queries).
- Develop and support SQL jobs and SSIS packages for data
imports, exports, and transformations.
- Construct new reports and support SQL Server Reporting Services
environment.
- Verify database backups (transaction log backups for databases
in FULL recovery mode).
- Verify replication agents are working.
- Verify SQL Server jobs and SSIS packages.
- Administering SQL security patching.
- Experience implementing SQL Encryption (at rest and in
transit).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ensuring corporate security standards have been applied and
maintained.
- Effective communication skills.
- Comfortable with fast-paced work environment.
- Travel maybe required for this position.
- Current travel demands are less than 5-10% per year and are
subject to change depending on need.
Desired Qualifications:
- 4 year degree in IT/IS or other closely related discipline; may
consider experience and certifications for degree requirement.
- Experience with C# / .NET is plus.
- PowerShell experience.
- Experience with Azure or AWS.
