What you will Do Project leadership responsibilities across all
aspects of the hiring and retention processes involving all
Appliance Park manufacturing operations.
Partner with the Manager, Hourly Employment and team to ensure
hourly employment achieves desired hourly hiring targets and
throughput efficiency needed to achieve targets.
Provide strategy on all aspects of the hiring process;
recruiting/attraction, speed/ease of application process,
scheduling, interviewing, offer generation, drug screening, Fit for
Work process, and orientation.
Develop, tract, and utilize metrics to guide decision making on
hiring and retention actions.
Provide dotted line leadership to HR personnel engaged in
retention, positive workplace culture, and workforce development
Provide guidance to and partner with operating leadership to
focus on all workplace culture driving aspects that lead to
improvement in workplace satisfaction and retention of hourly
Work with Plant Managers, HR Managers, Chief Stewards and
Stewards on all aspects of workplace culture.
Provide guidance and best practice sharing to GEA satellite
plants and HR Managers.
Willingness to work across all three shifts when/where needed to
support retention related actions.
Identify opportunities for and leadership characteristics of
salaried manufacturing personnel to focus on a positive engaged
workplace culture for all employees.
Identify training, programs, and follow through for both
operating and HR personnel to improve the positive workplace
culture leading to reduced attrition and better overall job
Identify HRIS related tools and processes to support all aspects
of the hiring process to ensure compliance, speed, and efficiency
in all areas of the hiring process.
What you need to Succeed Required Qualifications
HR Manager experience in manufacturing plants and
Previous experience with hiring and/or retention related
activities of hourly manufacturing employees.
Demonstrated ability to partner with operating and HR leadership
on employee related programs and processes.
Strong communications skills, both verbal and written
Previous experience engaging with all levels of management of
Knowledge of legal requirements related to all aspects of the
Knowledge of GEA’s manufacturing plant operations and culture
involving employee related policies and processes.
10+ years of HR leadership experience with 5+ years of HR
experience directly in manufacturing production.
Previous experience in unionized manufacturing environment.
