Job title District Manager Reports to General Sales Manager and Field Sales Manager Job SummaryThe District Manager is responsible for overseeing and achieving sales goals within a defined territory. This individual is tasked to drive sales through effective sales and marketing strategies, coordination with chain and key accounts and customer relationship management. S/He will manage a team of sales people and coordinate and monitor their sales efforts to align with achieving individual and company goals.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTEAM LEADERSHIP Train and manage assigned sales professionals on selling and merchandising strategies for assigned territory and Heidelberg way of selling. Communicate, enforce and monitor sales programs as they develop. Analyze sales performance to help assigned sales professionals enhance their sales volume. Conduct weekly sales team meeting for assigned sales professionals to communicate sales progress, goals and concerns. Initiate, document and oversee disciplinary action over assigned sales professionals as needed. Communicate with departments within Heidelberg. SALES Identify new opportunities in assigned territory for increased market share and new accounts. Build relationships with new and existing accounts to lay foundation for distribution and special requests, and build relationships with our suppliers. Assist sales professionals on daily sales calls as needed. Evaluate market conditions for assigned territory and proactively approach risks and needs. Summarize and review sales and market information with General Sales Manager. Attend weekly sales leader and general sales meetings. Weekly in-market time spent riding with sales professionals, assisting with store resets and other duties as requested by General Sales Manager or Field Sales Manager. Qualifications and Requirements High School diploma/GED required Valid driver's license required Minimum three years relevant sales experience with a record of meeting and exceeding goals Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Strong negotiation, communication and organizational skills Working Conditions [Include Hours, Time of Shift] Must be able to work flexible hours through the week, including some weekends and holidays Must be able to lift, carry and rotate product Physical Requirements [These Can Be Attached If Extensive] Regular, consistent physical attendance is required. Ability to lift, carry, transfer and rotate product at store levelWhile performing the duties of this job, employee is required to stand; balance; walk; climb stairs, sit; use hands to feel and handle objects, tools, or controls, including standard office equipment such as computers, phones, fax machines; reach with hands and arms; talk; hear; and have specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus. Employee is required to be physically capable of operating a vehicle, maintain a valid Driver's license and requisite insurance.
