Responsibilities

Summary

The Synchrony Laboratory Director plans, implements, and oversees the Synchrony Lab program with a focus on offerings in the Long Term Care market. This position obtains and maintains state licensing and other regulatory requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Application Processing: Complete, process, and maintain CLIA, CAP, and state specific applications and documentation.2. Equipment Recommendations: Recommend appropriate equipment and supplies for the specific clinical, molecular and esoteric testing.3. Laboratory Build-out and Design: Work in conjunction with instrument manufacturers to plan layout and design on the laboratory space as needed for future changes/additions to the lab.4. Validation: Assist, oversee, and guide any new validations.5. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Develop and maintain SOPs as needed.6. Recruiting: Assist in recruiting, screening, and interviewing potential employees for the laboratory. 7. Test Menu: Provides guidance with regard to current and proposed test menus.8. Inspection Preparation: Prepare the laboratory and staff for upcoming inspections and surveys.9. Industry Knowledge: Keep up-to-date on industry changes in billing, coding, reimbursements, testing, best practices, and innovations.10. Consulting: Provide on-going consultation to address regulatory and technical issues. 11. Limited travel including overnight stay, as necessary.12. Meets Expectations of Excellence for position.13. Supports lab, customer, departmental goals and the overall objectives of the Company.14. Complies with all laws, regulations and standards of ethical conduct.15. Performs all job duties with a friendly positive and team-oriented approach.16. Maintains required licenses or certifications in good standing with the State.17. Complies with all Company policies, procedures, rules and standards.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of:
Nursing home laboratory reimbursement systems
Long Term Care laboratory industry and nursing home regulations.
Required laboratory recordkeeping.
Compliance with external regulatory agencies and organizations for all areas of responsibility.

Skills in:
Interpersonal and analytical skills; gathering and compiling information and analyzing and adjusting discrepancies.
Ongoing development of a servant leadership culture that strives to achieve the highest ethical standards.
Project management from conception to evaluation, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adhere to deadlines.
Organizational and time management skills to prioritize workflow and ensure duties and projects are completed by deadlines.

Ability to:
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and identify and recommend solutions to problems.
Meet deadlines, prioritize and deliver quality results in a time sensitive environment.
Review and analyze information, while using critical thinking skills to evaluate data for care plan compliance.
Maintain confidentiality and professional discretion.
Generate of use different sets of rules for combining or grouping things in different ways
Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
Organize, manage, prioritize and track multiple detailed tasks with efficiency with strong attention to detail.
Work independently, as well as collaboratively, within a team environment.
Provide a high level of customer service in a calm and professional manner.

Experience:


Three (3) to Five (5) years' director experience in a moderately complex (or higher) laboratory setting
Exemplary computer skills that include knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of products.
