An official website of the United States government This position is a Term appointment not to exceed 3 years. This position may be extended in one year increments up to eight years and may be converted to a permanent appointment without further competition. To be eligible for conversion to a permanent appointment, employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous service under a TERM appointment in the competitive service AND employee must have a current performance rating of at least fully successful or equivalent. Serves as manager and focal point for all Headquarters V Corps facilities, buildings and adjacent grounds located at Fort Knox, KY and chief advisor to the V Corps Command Group on all facility and building matters. Plans, manages, and directs all building management activities to include maintenance, repair, security, safety, property accountability, space utilization and management, office layouts, remodeling, alterations. Secures and maintains appropriate levels of support services related to heating, air conditioning, water and electrical service needs, janitorial and custodial services, relationships with vendors, concessionaires, and visitor control. Sets overall service requirements and program check points for evaluating the various systems Inspects facilities to ensure scheduled maintenance activities are carried out; security, safety, and fire prevention programs are properly adhered to; and deficiencies are noted and corrective measures are taken Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance and access. Must accept a term position and serve a one year trial period. Must pass an initial and annual physical exam. Qualifications Who May Apply: US CitizensIn order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional information about transcripts is in this document .Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Manage buildings, facilities and grounds including oversight of construction, janitorial and maintenance repairs.
