JOB DESCRIPTION

Title:  Maintenance Manager

Position: Non-exempt

Location:  Elizabethtown, KY

Manager:  Yes

Reports to: General Manager

 

SUMMARY OF ROLE 

Responsible for the safe maintenance, repair or replacement of plant equipment and systems, to ensure maximum production quality and quantity while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company.  

  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • As a member of the plant leadership team will participate in objective setting, plan development and performance review of plant.
  • Initiates, implements and manages the plant maintenance program based on best practices in the plastic injection mold industry with emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventative/predictive maintenance.
  • Manage repairs of maintenance and production equipment, monitors the use and inventory of spare parts, maintenance supplies and equipment per production/budgetary goals.
  • Supervises plant maintenance personnel, ensure technicians are adequately trained, equipped and motivated so maintenance goals can be accomplished in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Assist in hiring of maintenance personnel and conducts employee performance reviews.
  • Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate solve problems in a timely manner and identify opportunities for improvement.  
  • Ensures city, county, state and federal regulations relating to the maintenance department are met at all times.  

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent preferred.   Five years maintenance supervisory/management experience required.

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

Ability to sit or stand as required, ability to bend, twist or stoop and climb.  Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

The work environment is at a workstation in a manufacturing facility with low to moderate noise level. Works closely with Operations Manager, Molding Supervisors, Working Foremen, Group Leader and other hourly production personnel.
