Like the lightweight plastic, Bakelite is strong, durable, and its potential allows for its future to be molded into infinite shapes - and we're looking for talented and passionate people to help us create that future and the products that will change the world tomorrow.Position SummaryThe Credit Specialist is responsible for collecting outstanding debts owed to the company, primarily in North America.Job ResponsibilitiesJob Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Monitor accounts receivable portfolio consistently for events that may negatively impact risk.React and recommend action to minimize risk.Monitor customer order blocks daily to determine reason for block and address issues, including communication with the customer service/sales order processing teams. Coordinate order release with regional credit manager.Monitor and date late payments and initiate late payment notices.Communicate with relevant parties, including informing debtors of payment status and timelines for repayment. Follow up on payments.Support and participate in negotiation of repayment and financial plans as needed.Monitor and resolve financial discrepancies.Update and review accounts; keep records of payments up to date.Negotiate export payment instruments, such as letter of credit, documentary collection, etc.Prepare supports for credit evaluation based on D&B information, CRMZ report prepare ratio matrix and payment records.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in finance, business or related field required.At least 3 years of experience as a collector or related position.Knowledge and ability to navigate SAP required.Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.Proficient negotiation skills.Maintains a high level of accuracy and completeness.Self-motivated and self-directed. Ability to work with minimal supervision.Ability to understand and translate large amounts of numbers financial information, negotiate tactfully and persistently contact people of interest to collect the value owed.Ability to understand and negotiate export payment instruments.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with internal teams to meet business needs.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to create trust and build relationships.Able to analyze problems and strategize for solutions.Ability to efficiently manage time.We are an Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action employer.
