Job OverviewAs a Press Operator, you will be responsible for the production of printed materials for the flexible packaging process. As Operator you will be required to print material to customer specifications. Press Operator will work together with maintenance to keep the machine running at optimum conditions. Also work with their team and management to improve the printing processes. This position will also be part of the Press/Lamination combo team. Knowledge of lamination is a plus.2. Principal AccountabilitiesResponsible for set-up and operation of a Gravure/Roto press and directing activities of a Helper/Assistant in order to maintain maximum press efficiency and product quality.Checks and inspects material received from prior operations to verify accuracy and conformance to specifications on Sales Order form.Follow safe operating procedures, comply with safety rules and wear PPE as specified.Perform basic operator preventative maintenance to machine and/or tools.Perform tasks within acceptable limits for quality, quantity, and timeliness of completion of tasks.Possess a broad understanding of inks, solvents, material characteristics and ability to perform make ready, set-up and operation of an 8-color pressTo be aware of, adhere to and help to improve all safety standards and procedures at AF-ShelbyvilleTo be aware of, adhere to and help improve all quality standards and procedures at AF-ShelbyvilleTo be aware of, adhere to and help improve all production standards and procedures at AF-ShelbyvillePossess good verbal and written communication skillsHas a good understanding of current operating standards and practices.
