NORTON HEART & VASCULAR INSTITUTE, located in Louisville, Kentucky, is seeking a fellowship-trained, board-certified or board-eligible electrophysiologist to join its expanding program. The ideal candidate will join a comprehensive outpatient Heart Rhythm Center supported by a dedicated team that includes five board-certified electrophysiologists, four advanced practice providers, two nurse navigators and 10 cardiac device specialists. The center offers a dedicated Atrial Fibrillation Clinic and remote device monitoring program, and will be part of a new cardiovascular multidisciplinary clinic space opening in spring 2023.
Norton Heart & Vascular Institute is the areas largest collaborative cardiovascular group, with more than 40 board-certified physicians and more than 30 advanced practice providers focused in a specialty and subspecialty model that includes general cardiology, advanced cardiac imaging, electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, advanced heart failure care with mechanical circulatory support, vascular surgery, and structural heart and cardiothoracic surgery. Norton Heart & Vascular Institute maintains more than 57% of the total cardiovascular market share in our primary service area. Thanks to an endowment investment of up to $88 million from the Rounsavall Family Foundation, Norton Heart & Vascular Institutes new multidisciplinary clinic space will open in spring 2023 on the Norton Audubon Hospital campus. The investment also includes upgrading and expanding all catheterization labs across the Norton Healthcare system, as well as computed tomography (CT) machines for advanced imaging.

About the Position:


  • Ideal candidate will have expertise in advanced catheter ablation techniques for atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia and all aspects of clinical cardiac electrophysiology
  • Opportunity to work with a nationally accredited A-fib Center of Excellence in an A-fib clinic model
  • Access to state-of-the-art facilities, including three electrophysiology laboratories with new fluoroscopy equipment (fourth lab to be completed in summer 2022), electrophysiology recording systems, 3D mapping equipment, radiofrequency ablation and cryoablation equipment, intracardiac ultrasound and laser lead extraction
  • Supported by the Heart Rhythm Center remote monitoring team that provides paperless device follow-up for over 6,000 patients
  • Ability to practice inpatient and outpatient care with a work-life balance
  • Telecardiology services readily available

    Requirements:

    • Medical degree/diploma
    • Residency/fellowship certification
    • Kentucky medical license or license eligible

      • Device implantation and monitoring, including leadless atrioventricular synchronous pacemaker
      • FIRST AND MOST EXPERIENCED PROGRAM IN THE AREA offering hybrid ablation/ catheter procedure
      • Two American College of Cardiology A-fib with EPS accredited hospitals
      • More than 19,000 patient encounters each year
      • 1,187 pacemakers, cardioverter defibrillators or loop recorders implanted or revised in 2021
