The wraps supervisor is responsible for the outcome of the daily
shift. The wraps supervisor is responsible to delegate and oversee
the tasks as assigned to the Wraps machine operators by upline
production managers. These shall include loading and unloading for
materials (raw and finished goods) from manufacturing equipment,
monitoring machine performance to maintain product quality,
adherence to manufacturing and quality standards, and ensuring
machine is operational throughout scheduled time as required to
maintain production planning. This position is responsible to
ensure the production equipment is maintained by good cleaning
standards and practice, following recommended daily and weekly
maintenance routines and following instructions as given by
management or maintenance team regarding good maintenance.
Activities as related to producing, packaging, loading, unloading,
and operations of the tobacco manufacturing equipment. The normal
shift is 40 hours in the manufacturing environments, though
additional time may be necessary. This position will be assigned
tasks, as determined by the Area Manager, Director of Production,
or Senior Vice President of Operations. Working hours may require
overtime as needed to cover fluctuations in production demand.
Performing production tasks, responsibilities and duties as
Engaged in machine operation activities such as, but not limited
to, preparing raw materials for equipment, loading raw materials on
equipment, inspecting production process during operations to
ensure that quality standards are being adhered to, unloading
finished production materials, packaging finished product, and
following warehousing guidelines and protocol to maintain batch
traceability and good inventory standards.
Ensure that all assigned work is completed to plan, on quality and
on budget if cost is associated.
Take every action necessary to optimize efficiency and minimize
waste of the production activities
Track, monitor, measure, and report daily manufacturing KPIs and
meet or exceed these metrics.
Oversee the operation of production and facility equipment in an
efficient and safe manner
Conducts hourly and real time checkups on equipment to ensure it is
operating as designed and notifies area Manager or Maintenance team
in the event of any issues or concerns.
Ensure safe practices are followed while working around equipment,
moving components, and electrical hazards.
Train, mentor, develop and coach operators and warehouse persons to
develop and retain talent.
Ensure assigned area is operating efficiently and monitor area
frequently for opportunities for improvement.
Implement improvement plans and concepts to strengthen results and
outcomes of production.
4+ years related experience and/or training or equivalent
combination of education and experience
Ability to operate a forklift to move heavy machinery throughout
the building or willingness to be trained
Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted
Ability to climb a ladder 6-12 feet if required for cleaning or
other operational duties assigned
Ability to stand, walk, and move around for scheduled working hours
during the workday
Ability to work both indoors and outdoors. Facility is heated, but
not air conditioned. The temperature indoors in the winter is
approximately 50-60 degrees and will be hot in the summer
