1st Shift:Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.

Job Description:

Immediate Hiring for several Medical Assistants. This position will be responsible for providing patient care under the direction of a provider and works to facilitate clinic workflow, assist patients, and ensure safe, seamless delivery of care for each patient in a fast-paced environment. May be asked to travel between clinic locations. The CMAshould be able to work independently and demonstrate a proactive, problem-solving attitude. Job duties include:

• Accurately rooms patients, obtains vital signs, patient history, and reason for visit
• Reconciles medications at each visit
• Prepares and/or coordinates referrals as directed by the provider
• Prepares patients for in-office procedures such as cystoscopies, vasectomies, prostate biopsies, and catheter changes
• Obtains appropriate procedural consents
• Prepares urine specimens for outside lab cultures, ensuring the correct order is placed and verified and the correct specimen collection container is used
• Maintains work areas, exam rooms, supplies, and equipment ensuring all are clean and sterilized appropriately and by guidelines and standards
• Maintain appropriate control logs timely and accurately, reporting any discrepancies
• Prepare for provider clinics in advance by reviewing schedules, ensuring required labs and diagnostic imaging are available in the electronic health record and communicating with patients and outside facilities to obtain and/coordinate receiving the needed items
• Communicates effectively and timely with providers establishing an excellent working relationship
• Reporting abnormal test results and/or urgent patient needs, having the ability and knowledge to identify urgency and ensuring all communication is documented in the electronic health record
• Reviews tasks and messages timely, taking appropriate action when needed
• Communicates effectively and timely with patients, returning phone calls and messages providing updates as necessary
• Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice and skill level
• Complies with HIPAA Privacy and Security requirements, always maintaining patient confidentiality
• Adheres to organization and departmental policies and procedures CMA Requirements and Skills:
  
  • Basic Life Saving (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (required)
  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED), required.
  • Medical Assisting certification from a nationally recognized organization. (Such as: CMA, CCMA, or MA), required.
  • Medical Assisting Degree, preferred
  • Minimum one year of working in a medical facility as a medical assistant and or documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office
  • Electrocardiogram (EKG), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injection experience Benefits:
