Chemours is seeking an Automation & Process Control (A&PC) Engineer to join our growing Manufacturing Technology team! This position will report directly to the Manufacturing Technology Manager at our Louisville, KY location.

The A&PC Engineer provides technical leadership and support by implementing improvements in process control systems. They will work closely with the Manufacturing / Technical resources, operators, and technicians. The A&PC engineer provides process control assistance, leads capital improvement automation projects, and manages systems to enable stable, efficient control of the process.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Design and commission control systems (ie DCS/PLC)
  • Develop and maintain control room graphics for effective process operation
  • Support area resources in design, configuration, and implementation of new control schemes
  • Serve as the primary contact for area control systems, process data historian, and networks
  • Participate in and lead controls-related reviews and projects as required
  • Participate in investigations of process control incidents and ensure follow-up actions are completed
  • Part of a team that provides support, as needed, to control systems across the site for 24/7 operation

    The following is required for this role:
    • BS in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields from an ABET accredited institution
    • Minimum 2 years of experience with control system maintenance/configuration/support or a chemical manufacturing facility
    • Ability to read and understand control system related documentation such as P&IDs, logic drawings, electrical drawings, and vendors' installation/user manuals
    • Working knowledge of key Process Safety Management (PSM) technology elements such as PHA, Process Technology, and Management of Change
    • Excellent analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, and communication skills with ability to work in both self-managed and team environments

      The following is preferred for this role:
      • Experience with highly hazardous chemical processes
      • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of instrumentation used in process control
      • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of control system architecture
      • Demonstrated skills in configuring, documenting, and troubleshooting a variety of control systems
      • Experienced with Honeywell DCS Control System, Safety Instrumented System (SIS) and associated networking
      • Experienced in developing and documenting detailed basic data to ensure success of process improvements and capital projects
      • Working knowledge of data analytics and statistics using tools like 6-Sigma, python, Power BI, Alteryx, or process industry specific time-series analysis tools
      • Working knowledge of citizen-coder tools such as the Microsoft Power Platform (i.e. Power Apps)

        $93,184.00 - $145,600.00
