Chemours is seeking a Safety and Security Lead to join our growing Operations team! This position will report directly to the Plant Manager at our Louisville, KY location.

The Chemical Safety Lead c onsults, analyzes, evaluates and makes recommendations to site management regarding facility, safety, security, and fire protection strategies. Develops and leads planning and resource allocation for successful implementation of specialized and routine projects emphasizing defect eliminate. Interacts with internal and external resources to perform benchmarking to improve and expand site functional capabilities.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for implementation, communication and coordination of all safety, security, emergency response, and fire protection programs
  • Conducts investigations relating to all safety incidents, ensures proper notification process is followed, provides analysis on root cause, and works with site management on corrective action
  • Analyzes and directs supervisors on methods and approaches to resolve safety related concerns
  • Provides regular metrics and performance reporting to site
  • Ensures proper compliance of safety documentation in accordance to state and federal laws
  • Acts as the primary investigator on behalf of the site relating to all safety incidents
  • Manages all record keeping requirements of site team (state specific, OSHA, EPA, etc.)
  • Researches new regulations and developments in the field of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) and implements
  • Demonstrates and promotes felt leadership engagement and has an active physical presence across the site
  • Facilitates effective sharing of information across organization as a whole. Creates an atmosphere of awareness, engagement, and commitment to zero.

    The following is required for this role:
    • Bachelor's degree in EHS or Engineering programs preferred, with preference to Safety, Security, or Fire Protection
    • Minimum 5 years' experience in EHS&S (Environmental, Health and Safety & Security) Management
    • Exceptional and proven communication skills, both oral and written
    • Independently proactive to impart compliance and enforce adherence to all EHS&S regulations while building and maintaining rapport with all levels of personnel
    • Ability to take initiative, self-manage, identify what is needed and take effective action to bring about change and lead/implement change while demonstrating Chemours' core values and

      The following is preferred for this role:
      • Experience leading EHS improvement in complex, chemical or high hazard operations - including Emergency Response, and PSM leadership
      • Current professional certification - PE, CHMM, CSP, CPP, etc.
      • Proficiency with analytical tools to help gather and analyze data
      • Six Sigma or Lean Continuous Improvement Certification
      • Experience working in a union environment

        Pay Range (in local currency):
        $105,280.00 - $164,500.00
