Responsibilities

Assists with managing the Workers Compensation claims program for Norton Healthcare. Ensures that all claims are handled according to the Kentucky Workers Compensation Statutes and are managed in the most efficient and cost-effective way. Completes claim investigations to determine compensability. Manages the transitional duty program for NHC. Manages medical care for all NHC employees who sustain a work related injury or illness.; Manages the utilization review process and meets the regulatory guidelines. Develop proactive strategies that will lead to ultimate claim resolution by engaging HR personnel, managers at all levels, physicians and the injured employee. Develops and recommends loss prevention activities to departments to promote safety practices and reduce loss exposure. Ensures OSHA and Workers; Compensation regulatory reporting requirements are met. Supervises the WC Claims Assistant and provides training and counseling as appropriate. Creates reports and analyzes loss data. Ensures all data bases are updated and maintained.

Qualifications

Required:

• Three years in Kentucky workers compensation case management. Use of medical treatment protocols and physician advisor/peer review programs.
• Diploma
• Registered Nurse Desired:
  • One year administering Workers Compensation
  • Education: Bachelor Degree
  • Certification: Certified Case Manager OR Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist
