Job SummaryThe University of Kentucky, College of Social Work
(CoSW), is a renowned leader in social work with a mission to

service. CoSW offers various degree programs, including Bachelor of
Arts, Master of Social Work, Doctorate of Social Work, and PhD,
with campuses in Lexington and San Antonio, Texas.Position
OverviewThe Associate Dean for Research will lead the development
and execution of the college's strategic research vision, fostering
a culture of research excellence, faculty and student development,
and infrastructure investment.Primary Responsibilities
- Research Vision and Strategy
- Develop and communicate a compelling research vision for
CoSW.
- Establish strategies to advance research endeavors.
- Coordinate with the Centers and Labs to expand research
infrastructure.
- Monitor and report on research performance metrics.
- Collaborate on financial planning for research activities.
- Research Collaboration and Outreach
- Build partnerships within UK and internationally.
- Act as liaison with research entities like IRB and VPR.
- Work with marketing teams to promote research
achievements.
- Encourage interdisciplinary research aligned with institutional
goals.
- Research Development and Support
- Promote research skills among faculty and staff.
- Support mentorship and professional development.
- Identify funding opportunities and assist with grant
processes.
- Participate in faculty evaluations related to research
effort.
- Research Culture and Infrastructure
- Create a supportive environment for research.
- Manage resources and incentives for research activities.
- Develop policies supporting research excellence.
- Align research initiatives with accreditation standards and
expansion goals.Additional DetailsThis is a 9-month,
tenure-eligible, open-rank faculty position. The faculty's effort
distribution is determined annually in collaboration with the Dean.
Excellence in teaching, advising, and service is
