    Position Overview

    The Enterprise Architect (EA) is responsible for the technical framework and applications that Galen employees and students will use. The EA designs Galen's applications to ensure it aligns well with the business' organizational structure and processes. Their main duties include developing ways to integrate the business' IT systems, creating and implementing enterprise architecture models and suggesting improvements to current internal functions and IT processes. The EA will work with vendors to ensure the applications meet the standards and function within the guidelines of Galen's IT policies and systems.

    Position Responsibilities:

    The duties and responsibilities of an Enterprise Architect require a solid set of skills to lead and monitor teamwork. These interpersonal requirements are in addition to hands-on abilities that require attention to detail and organization. They must collaborate with stakeholders and managerial personnel to create an IT infrastructure.

    Essential Duties:

  • Preparing proposals and estimates for the design and implementation of IT systems
  • Lead technology evaluation and adoption efforts (including proof-of-concept,proof-of-technology, and riskiest assumption tests)
  • Work to improve a company's efficiencies and organizational structure by building a new IT infrastructure and improving the current one.
  • Build a clear strategy and direction for how to integrate a business' current information programs and applications to increase productivity and structure in the workplace
  • Support creation of technology standards and reusable components
  • Provides leadership and continuously align the integration platforms

    roadmap based on a deep understanding of the market / industry,

    insights & data from consumers, and input from stakeholders across the organization
  • Synchronizing business needs with IT systems
  • Works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial
  • Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks and works under minimal supervision
  • Responsible for evaluating the systems engineering and talent recruiting processes of an organization to spot any vulnerabilities or discrepancies in their system.
  • Act as the key decision-maker regarding what features the integration platforms will have
  • Work closely with key stakeholders throughout the organization
  • Defines, collaborates with other teams in capture of platform technical KPIs; produce and publish KPI reports to business and technology stakeholders
  • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications Position Requirements:

    Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related

    technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education,

    professional training or work experience.

    Certifications: Highly desirable, in any computer related area or concentration

    Special Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years prior experience (preferably more) in server / application support, implementation, and administration - including Microsoft Windows Servers, IIS, Active Directory, Networking, Wireless technologies, iOS, Application Development languages (C# and PHP preferred).
  • Basic SAN and SQL Server database administration skills, as well as practical skills in Linux / LAMP, network / computer security.
  • Basic Cisco switching / routing knowledge desirable.
  • Ability to communicate orally and written in a professional manner.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to work well both alone and in a distributed team setting, including vendors, resellers, and partners.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Microsoft Project, and SharePoint
  • Apache open-source software
  • Azure, AWS Services, PaaS, SaaS tools experience, Ci/CD processes and pipelines
  • Data modeling and configuration

    Physical Requirements: Ability to carry personal work devices.

    Degree of Supervision: Minimal.
