Chemours is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to join our growing Manufacturing Technology team! This position will report directly to the Manufacturing Technology Manager at our Louisville, KY location.

The Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer performs engineering assignments (production, maintenance, process, capital projects, etc.) involving the application of established electrical & instrumentation (E&I) technology and principles. This work often requires coordination with other engineering and functional competencies to provide economical and expedient task implementation. This role may also be assigned to lead the E&I function associated with major capital projects and will also lead commissioning, startups, and troubleshooting activities.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues to support and improve efficiency of the manufacturing facilities
  • Daily monitoring of electrical and instrument performance in the facility
  • Work with plant operational teams to facilitate continuous improvement efforts related to electrical and instrumentation performance
  • Implementation of detailed projects covering E&I aspects of manufacturing
  • Develop preventive and predictive programs for the E&I scope
  • Participate in project teams and all activities related to E&I technical support
  • Design and development of operations protocols, processing equipment installations and plant upgrades related to E&I installation
  • Conduct field assessments and audits on E&I equipment
  • Lead and implement all Chemours standard/policy related to E&I installations and maintenance


    The following is required for this role:
    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
    • Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve problems
    • Ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple, complex, time-sensitive projects
    • Ability to work in a team environment with high degree of initiative and self-motivation and flexibility to monitor and move projects forward quickly and safely
    • Proficient in typical business software such as Microsoft Office, etc. Thorough communication skills, verbal & written.


      The following is preferred for this role:
      • 3+years of professional electrical and instrumentation engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
      • Hands-on experience with plant electrical and instrumentation equipment maintenance and troubleshooting:
      • Motors, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, soft-starters, etc.
      • Flow, pressure, temperature, level, pH, density, conductivity, etc.
      • DCS and PLC programming experience
      • Safety Interlock Systems experience: design, testing and troubleshooting
      • Process Safety Management (PSM) experience

        Pay Range (in local currency):
        $93,184.00 - $145,600.00

        Chemours Level:
        25

        Annual Bonus Target:
        8%
