Full Time TRAVEL REQUIRED: 0% - 25%COMPENSATION: $63,595.00 to
$134,417.00 base salary plus potential for variable compensation.
Base pay is determined by your skills, qualifications, experience,
and location. Farm Credit Mid-America/Rural 1st may compensate
outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to
membership in a protected class.About Our OpportunityOn an
individual rotation basis or part of a team effort, provides cash
management support to retail offices, customers and AgriBank. This
position is expected to resolve a wide variety of accounting,
accounting system, and treasury management issues. Organize and
prioritize work to meet processing deadlines. This position is also
responsible for training other staff (central and retail office)
and monitoring their work quality.How You Will Spend Your Time
- Provide quality service and support to Farm Credit Mid-America
staff, customers, AgriBank staff, and outside vendors by answering
questions, researching problems, and providing solutions from
multiple sources including email, multi-line phone queue, and
internal software systems.
- Execute domestic and international daily cash management and
banking duties, including cash movements (wire transfer, ACH,
etc...), cash posting, payment issue resolution and banking
platform management.
- Identify new banking innovations and emerging technologies that
can be leveraged to drive process standardization, increase
efficiency, reduce costs, and improve controls.
- Process/approve remittances and other transactions to identify
fees payable to the Association, State specific programs, and other
third-party partners while also validating the external
transactions generated by teammates.
- Prepare and submit accounting entries involving complex
calculations and transactions.
- Enforce association fraud prevention and compliance by
processing and obtaining approval for outgoing wires, ACH
disbursement setups, fraud analyst review, and internal/external
fraud review.
- Analyze association-rejected transactions in relation to fraud
monitoring protocols and accounting guidelines. Monitor, document,
and report changes that could impact financials.
- Partner across organizations and cross-functional teams to
implement strategic and operational improvements to support
business growth, enhance internal controls and efficiencies.
- Gather and maintain cash management product usage and
statistical data as needed for management and board reporting
purposes. Participate in assessing portfolio reporting needs,
enhancing and designing applicable reports, and ongoing involvement
in portfolio reporting. Analyze results, perform what-if analysis,
and propose strategies to support Association objectives.
- Acquire and maintain expertise in accounting systems,
association practices and procedures, GAAP/ASC guidelines, and cash
management products and protocols to provide technical support to
Farm Credit Mid-America staff and internal/external bank staff,
while maintaining the integrity and control processes surrounding
treasury and cash management functions.
- Create reports and data monitoring tools via the Data Warehouse
or other data retrieval options to maintain the integrity of the
accounting system and related applications. Maintaining data
integrity by performing database testing and validation in support
of department and/or Association projects as needed.
- Participates actively in and/or facilitates team meetings to
identify issues for discussion and training.
- Represents Financial Operations on cross-functional
departmental, District, Association and System team projects.
- Support and facilitate the training and mentoring of new team
members.
- Monitoring and reviewing team processes and manuals for
accuracy and facilitates the updates for changes in process and/or
accounting practices.
- Shows significant experience and expertise in the major
responsibilities above. Minimum Education & ExperienceBachelor's
degree in accounting, finance, or business plus two or more years
of progressively responsible and related experience. Strong Excel,
Access, PowerPoint, and Word skills. Experience in the financial
services industry preferred.Mental & Physical Requirements
- Engage in telephone and face-to-face conversation to serve
internal customers and give and receive information from staff,
vendors, outside consultants and the public.
- Use a computer and similar office technology and tools.
- This involves reading the screen and keying/typing
information.
- Speak and make presentations to individuals or groups on
technical subjects related to job.
- Travel via auto or commercial transportation to carry out
essential responsibilities of the job.
- Successfully interact with and represent the organization to
staff, officers, board members, customers, vendors, and/or the
public at all levels.
- Provide sound technical advice to leaders and other staff in
the subject field(s) related to this position.
- Understand and explain various subject matter and consulting
concepts, programs, terminology, and methods.
- Reason, judge, compare, calculate, evaluate, decide, and
critique such information as written material, numerical data,
responses to customer needs, and/or other related work activities.
