Overview:As an Access Control Technician, you will be responsible
for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of access
control systems within commercial and industrial settings. This
position requires a strong understanding of electronic security
systems and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
to ensure optimal functionality and security for clients'
facilities.Key Responsibilities:Install, program, and configure
access control systems according to project specifications and
industry standards.Conduct site surveys to assess client needs and
develop customized access control solutions.Troubleshoot and repair
access control system components, including readers, controllers,
and software interfaces.Perform regular maintenance tasks, such as
firmware updates, database management, and system backups, to
ensure system reliability and security.Collaborate with project
managers, engineers, and other technicians to coordinate
installation schedules and project timelines.Provide training and
technical support to clients and end-users on the operation and
maintenance of access control systems.Document all installations,
repairs, and maintenance activities in accordance with company
procedures and regulatory requirements.Stay updated on advancements
in access control technology and recommend upgrades or enhancements
to existing systems as needed.Adhere to safety protocols and
regulations while working on job sites, including the proper use of
personal protective equipment and adherence to lockout/tagout
procedures.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent;
additional technical certifications or training in electronics,
security systems, or related fields preferred.Proven experience
installing and servicing access control systems, including
familiarity with industry-leading brands and
manufacturers.Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical
drawings, schematics, and installation manuals.Strong
troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve
issues efficiently.Excellent communication and interpersonal
skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients,
team members, and other stakeholders.Detail-oriented with a
commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and customer
satisfaction.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
and as part of a collaborative team.Valid driver's license and
reliable transportation, as travel to client sites may be
required.Physical Requirements:Ability to lift and carry heavy
equipment and materials, up to 50 pounds.Comfortable working at
heights and in confined spaces, as necessary.Capable of standing,
kneeling, and bending for extended periods.Preferred Additional
Skills:Experience with integrated security systems, including CCTV,
intrusion detection, and intercom systems.Familiarity with
networking principles and protocols, including TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, and
VLAN configurations.Knowledge of access control standards and
regulations, such as UL 294 and NFPA 101 Life Safety Code.Note:
