11 days ago Requisition ID: 1026 The Regional Sales Director, West
(RSD) will lead a specialty sales team for their region with focus
on promoting and selling pharmaceutical products to targeted
physicians. The RSD will coach Recovery Sales Specialists (RSSs) to
achieve expected results as driven by the corporate sales strategy
and specific product sales goals. The RSD is responsible for the
overall execution and performance of the assigned region. The RSD
will serve as a key information source regarding all competitive
product(s), managed care plan statuses, and market dynamics for
their respective region. Leadership, motivation, and field training
will also be key attributes for this role. The West Region covers a
large geographic footprint that currently has direct reports in
Chicago, Milwaukee, Nashville, Atlanta, Denver, Phoenix, San
Diego/Southern California and Florida (subject to change). Must
live near a major airport for the least disruptive air travel.
Ideal geographic locations for the role would include, but not
limited to, Nashville, Chicago, St. Louis, Denver, Phoenix and
Southern California. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following

- Hire, develop, motivate and retain a highly competitive sales
team
- Directly lead and manage a field based team of RSSs deployed
over a multi-state geographic area
- Work with organizational directors to develop a Regional
Operations Plan, programs and processes that will create and
develop business and sales growth opportunities
- Create and manage budgets for sales region. Oversee field
expenses and create procedures to ensure that budget is managed
appropriately for the business -
- Responsible for conducting field-based supervisory and coaching
visits with RSSs on a regular basis to ensure that the RSS is
performing at a level that fulfills their responsibilities and
allows them to achieve their individual and team sales objectives,
including performance improvement plans for the RSSs who are not
meeting individual sales objectives
- Partner with RSSs to share ownership of key account
relationships -
- In conjunction with territory management, work with RSSs to
establish reasonable and attainable territory goals, ensuring that
these goals are accomplished with ethical, legal, and budgetary
boundaries and that fit with determined promotional priorities
aligned to corporate direction
- Communicate summary sales activities to management at least
monthly and more often as needed, including current and planned
field activities to accomplish strategic and tactical goals and
results achieved with their sales team
- Maintain expert level of knowledge pertaining to professional,
technical, payer, and industry developments that are essential to
the selling of the Company's products versus the competition
- Exhibit personally and maintain across the team a strong
culture of compliance with all sales and marketing policies,
corporate policies, state and federal laws
- Conduct their individual and corporate responsibilities with a
high level of integrity, professionalism and ethics QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Prior experience in selling or marketing pharmaceutical
product(s)
- Prior experience/proven track record as a Regional Sales
Director/District Manager preferred
- Experience in Addiction, Recovery and/or Pain Therapeutic areas
preferred, with a passion for helping patients with substance use
disorders required
- Proven history of leading sales results individually and as a
team leader
- Clinical background or experience.
- Ability to translate complex medical or scientific information
into key sales and marketing messages
- Prior launch experience -
- Understanding of commercial and government reimbursement
- Understanding of carrier and fiscal intermediary payment
methodologies
- Understanding of retail and specialty pharmacy markets
- Managed Markets understanding
- Established track record of compliance
- Proven ability to display district/region leadership,
performance management, and career planning
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, hire, coach, and develop
direct reports to success PHYSICAL DEMANDS
