Title: CMM Metrology Programmer 

Position: Nonexempt 

Location: Elizabethtown, KY 

Manager: Quality Manager 

Reports to: Quality Manager 



The purpose for this
role is to primarily perform inspection equipment programming, and performing
the testing associated with that equipment, including but not limited to CMM’s,
Quality America (software) and Vision Systems. The role will be highly involved
in the implementation of new CMM fixturing, new measurement devices, and
performing Gauge R&R on the new equipment, up to and including product
validations. Additionally, the role includes performing inspections of incoming
materials, first piece, in process, and finished goods; while maintaining
appropriate records to comply with company and customer documentation required.
Performing tasks while understanding and following ISO9001:2015 and cGMP
policies and procedures.



· Programming
and operation of Brown & Sharpe, and Nikon probe and vision CMM equipment
for optical, in process and final inspection with minimal supervision 

· Using
CMM Manager 3.8 software 

· Programming
and operation of Quality America software program – SPC database 

· Ensures
that customer and internal quality requirements are met 

· Work
with the team on Validation activities during the part approval process 

· Create
and documents programs while maintaining revision tracking and control 

· Work
with the team on training quality personnel on CMM or Quality America programs 

· When
required, complete Cpk studies for R&D, new, transfer and engineering
change projects. Working closely with Program Manager and Quality Manager to
determine root cause and resolve low Cpk results 

· When
required, complete validation gauge R&R studies and/or develop
testing/inspection methods per customer specific requirements 


· Aid
in training the staff of new programs or quality related processes 

· Perform
internal audits on the various processes within the facility 

· Support
daily production with measurements and CMM run needs 

· Manage
all internal measurement tasks for production related programs 

· Prepare
metrology reports and other related correspondence 

· General
support for supplier related measurements 

· Provide
and implement continuous improvement and cost savings ideas 

· Submit
documentation changes when needed to update work instructions to the Quality
Specialist - Document Control 

· Will
be proficient in the use of CMM machines, SPC database, calipers, pin gauges,
and all standard and custom- made measurement tools within the quality

· Work
with the team to support root cause and corrective actions for customer and
supplier nonconformances 

· Analyze
data to determine trends or areas of concern to improve overall processes 

· Perform
other duties as assigned 


· High
School Diploma or GED

· Plastic
Injection Molding: 3 years 

· CMM:
3 years 

· Quality
inspection: 3 years 

· Manufacturing:
5 years 


· Proficient
in various metrology and measurement techniques 

· Strong
organization, teamwork, and time management skills 

· Excellent
verbal and written communication skills 

· Knowledge
of statistical analysis tools (i.e. process capability, SPC, GR&R, etc.) 

· Proficient
in MS Office software and data entry


· Advanced
CMM Training 

· GD&T
training and understanding 

· Experience
in the IQ, OQ, PQ Validation process 

· Development
and implementation of new fixturing and measurement techniques 


· Standing,
walking, or sitting for varying periods of time 

· Frequent
pushing, pulling, twisting, balancing, and stooping

· Ability
to lift 50lbs 


The work environment is
in a manufacturing facility with moderate noise level.
Frequently required to use personal
protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazards.
